Helderberg Community Choir

Just a quick note on our new born Helderberg Cantare:

Helderberg Cantare is a brand-new, ecumenical choir in the Helderberg area that celebrates cultural diversity and promotes the singing of spiritual and light classical music. The choir is a community initiative and will be performing at various venues in and around Somerset West, Strand and Gordon's Bay, including churches, concerts and festivals. The choir's vibrant conductor, Yolanda Botha, is the music director of Classical Sounds, which is performed annually at the Helderberg Dutch Reformed Church, as well as a music lecturer at Stellenbosch University. Practice sessions for Helderberg Cantare are on Monday evenings at 19h30 – 21h00 during school terms at the Reformed Church in Altena Street, opposite Strand Police Station. The choir is looking to increase its membership, so interested parties of all ages are welcome to contact the conductor, Yolanda Botha (helderbergconcerts@gmail.com) or the chairperson, Theo Mastenbroek (082 899 6742). Helderberg Cantare is also in need of a capable and enthusiastic accompanist with performance experience to form part of this exciting initiative.
